Building upon the success of Zenfone 6, Asus has launched its best smartphone range ever dubbed Zenfone 2. There’re 4 smartphones in this range, but the top-tier model is ZE551ML. And while Zenfone 6 currently costs around Rs. 16,000, this model of Zenfone 2 starts from Rs. 20,000. So we decided to compare both devices to find out how much things have changed after price difference of 4k.
Before starting up with the comparison, I think some of you would already be floating towards Zenfone 2. If that’s the case, please bookmark this blog post about flip covers for Asus Zenfone 2 for future reference.
Given below is the comparison Asus Zenfone 2 vs. Zenfone 6:
Zenfone 6 is powered by a 2GHz dual-core Intel Atom processor and 2GB RAM. On the other hand, Zenfone 2 is a performance powerhouse with 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom processor and 4GB RAM. Now you can guess yourself which one will perform better.
Zenfone 6 is called an ex-large smartphone particularly because of its 6-inches large screen. But Zenfone 2 is also not too far from this screen size with its 5.5-inch display. Both are full-HD displays. Being smaller in size, Zenfone 2 has a has a pixel density of 403 ppi. Zenfone 6, on the other hand, has a pixel density of 275 ppi because its display is larger.
In terms of main camera both smartphones are at the same spot with 13MP primary cameras. But when it comes to secondary camera, Zenfone2 is 3 steps ahead of Zenfone 6. It has got a 5MP camera against 2MP of Zenfone 6.
If Zenfone 6 would’ve had more internal storage space, it would’ve easily been a tie in this department. However, that’s not the case. Zenfone 6 has got the internal storage of 16GB while Zenfone 2 comes with double of that storage space (32GB). Both smartphones have expandable memory up to 64GB. But due to less internal storage, Zenfone 6 loses to its younger sibling in this department too!
Being latest, it’s no surprise that Zenfone 2 comes with latest operating system too. It’s running Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. On the other hand, Zenfone 6 is running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean since its inception and its Lollipop update scheduled in May has also been delayed. Easy win for Zenfone 2 in this department too.
Conclusion: Well, specs-wise Zenfone 2 is obviously better than Zenfone 6. However, if seen from a value for money perspective then it must be said that both smartphones totally justify their respective price tags. You can buy either of these depending on your budget., but if you can afford Zenfone 2 then I strongly recommend you to go for it instead of anything else.
